People in canoes are a popular image, relevant for both the Muskoka gallery that features my work as well as the Adirondack setting of Rick's book. Afterall, he has the location firmly in his mind and living with a painter like he does...the osmosis part kicks in. Which came first, your painting of the back of the woman in the canoe, or his cover?
Sending a delighted hug.

juliefordoliver.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07186754679744000743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613998748016675456.post-3044049804199022352020-05-02T10:08:45.162-04:002020-05-02T10:08:45.162-04:00Ha, ha, Julie! Kidding aside, Rick is absolutely my biggest fan, and we did consider having me paint a cover image, and the publisher's designer also submitted concepts. In the end, however, Rick actually designed this himself which is perhaps most fitting after all. Thanks so much for your good wishes. I will not mutter anything about his demerit by not using your artwork on the cover...you could have painted a darn canoe and tree covered mountain so expertly and tweaked it in a app to look similar to what he used. I do like the cover by the way...just would have liked it more if ....oh well, he and I can have the talk for his next book!!! I sincerely wish him every success with this one.
Big Hugs!juliefordoliver.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07186754679744000743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613998748016675456.post-54544477391882007782020-04-25T11:35:04.488-04:002020-04-25T11:35:04.488-04:00This is SO exciting, Helene!!
