New Book
HEY FOLKS
Turns out that guy I married has written a novel. Yep, who knew what he was doing all these past months on the computer in his office with the door closed. I had my suspicions of course. But no, he was writing!
It’s called Blues of Autumn by Richard Adamson, a murder/mystery set in the Adirondacks. It’s available on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca in both paperback and e-book, and today the publisher is offering the kindle version free.
So, if you’ve taken inventory of your toilet paper, watched Netflix till your eyelids drooped, and done every 1000-word jigsaw puzzle twice, here’s a new diversion.

This is SO exciting, Helene!! Super Congratulations to your husband... you must be so proud.
ReplyDeleteI admit to being very proud, Hilda, and thank you so much. By the way, I think your new horse painting is perfection!
DeleteUplifting ....it must be a great feeling in your house for birth completed with delivery of a new extension of hubby's creation. I will not mutter anything about his demerit by not using your artwork on the cover...you could have painted a darn canoe and tree covered mountain so expertly and tweaked it in a app to look similar to what he used. I do like the cover by the way...just would have liked it more if ....oh well, he and I can have the talk for his next book!!! I sincerely wish him every success with this one.
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs!
Ha, ha, Julie! Trust you to be my best cheerleader. Kidding aside, Rick is absolutely my biggest fan, and we did consider having me paint a cover image, and the publisher's designer also submitted concepts. In the end, however, Rick actually designed this himself which is perhaps most fitting after all. Thanks so much for your good wishes. Sending warmest hugs back to you!
DeleteHow clever of him...I rather like knowing Rick designed it himself. Afterall, he has the location firmly in his mind and living with a painter like he does...the osmosis part kicks in. Which came first, your painting of the back of the woman in the canoe, or his cover?
DeleteSending a delighted hug.
Hee, hee, thanjs, Julie! I think my woman-in-canoe painting was already done before the book cover, and the illustration clearly relates to the story. People in canoes are a popular image, relevant for both the Muskoka gallery that features my work as well as the Adirondack setting of Rick's book.
DeleteHi Helene - just popping in to thank you for the lovely comment - you placed on my blog quite a while ago.
