Daydreamer 10x 8 acrylic on gessoboard |
|
This is based on a photo of one one my favorite models, but not intended to be a likeness. It was a quiet moment when she appeared to be lost in thought. I wanted to capture that faraway look and my aim was to achieve an expressive and painterly image. Below are some progress shots.

I really enjoyed seeing your process and admire the end result very much, Helene.
ReplyDeleteHer eyes really say so much about her don't they because I can tell you like this person and made sure they captured her personality. Have a lovely day.
Thank you, Julie. Your comments always warm my heart. As you see, it's not a true portrait. I wanted a more dreamy and less intense gaze, so took liberties with the likeness.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The eyes have it. Like how you cropped it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carlene. I really liked your barn in winter - so evocative of that time as the season turns.
